Dog alerts its owners to $150K shed fire in Grande Pointe

No injuries are being reported after a dog alerted its owners to a shed fire on a property west of Chatham early Friday morning.

Chatham-Kent fire officials said crews from Stations 4 and 15 responded to the blaze at a pole shed on Rivard Line in Grande Pointe shortly after 3 a.m. Friday.

The report said the tenants of a residence there were awakened by their dog and saw flames coming from the shed after they looked outside.

The cause is going down as undetermined at this point and the damage is estimated at $150,000.
