COVID-19 outbreak declared at Bluewater Health

A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared on the Inpatient Medicine Unit at Sarnia's hospital.

Bluewater Health said five patients have tested positive for the virus.

During this time, visitors will not have access to Inpatient Medicine (Acute Medicine and General Medicine) but family and friends of patients can schedule a virtual visit by contacting the unit directly.

There are currently 13 COVID-positive patients in the hospital.

Lambton Public Health provides weekly surveillance reports. As of October 19, there were seven active outbreaks in the community, most of which were at long-term care and retirement homes.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
