LPH reports over 150 new COVID cases

Lambton Public Health reported 152 new lab confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the last week.

In its update Wednesday, the health unit reported that since the start of the pandemic two and a half years ago, there have been 13,816 infections and 155 related deaths locally.

The daily average number of cases is 18, down slightly from 21 a week ago.

The health unit is monitoring seven outbreaks in congregate settings. The latest was declared Tuesday at Afton Park Place Long Term Care Home.

There are 14 COVID-positive patients at Bluewater Health.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
