Fire crews called to $300K shed fire near Bothwell

No injuries were reported after a fire broke out at a pole shed on Longwoods Road between Thamesville and Bothwell early Tuesday morning.

Chatham-Kent fire crews said they were called to the scene at 15018 Longwoods Rd. just after 1 a.m. Tuesday.

Crews from Station #9 in Bothwell were the first to respond and firefighters from Thamesville and Orford were also called in to help out.

A report from fire officials said "firefighters quickly got the fire under control to protect the surrounding exposures" and managed to save approximately $400,000 in property.

The damage was estimated at $300,000 and the cause is listed as "undetermined."

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
