LPH reports another COVID related death

There has been another COVID-19 related death in Sarnia-Lambton.

In its weekly update on Wednesday, Lambton Public Health reported the death toll has increased to 163. The health unit said the individual was in their 90s and connected to a long-term care home.

Seven local long-term care homes and St. Joseph's Hospice are dealing with outbreaks of the virus.

Lambton Public Health reported 65 new lab confirmed cases in the last week, down from 142 reported last Wednesday, and the daily average number of cases has dropped to 12 from 19.

At Bluewater Health, there are eight COVID-positive patients.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
