Daily average COVID case count trending lower

The daily average number of COVID-19 cases locally is dropping.

Lambton Public Health reported 72 new lab confirmed cases of the virus in its weekly update Wednesday, with a daily average of 10 cases.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, there have been 14,095 infections and 163 related deaths in Sarnia-Lambton.

The health unit said there are seven outbreaks reported in local long-term care homes and hospice.

There are fewer than five COVID-positive patients at Bluewater Health.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
