Another large COVID-19 outbreak at Wallaceburg long term care home

A long term care home in Wallaceburg is dealing with another large COVID-19 outbreak.

On Wednesday, Chatham-Kent Public Health reported that Fairfield Park has 42 cases connected to the COVID-19 outbreak that was first declared November 14, 2022.

It's not the first large COVID-19 outbreak Fairfield Park has dealt with during the pandemic, either. The largest one reached 100 cases among residents and staff and lasted two months in early 2021.

The other current COVID-19 outbreak reported by the local health unit is at Riverview Gardens long-term care facility in Chatham and it has 13 cases. That outbreak was declared November 10, 2022.

No new deaths linked to COVID-19 were reported this week.
