IKEA recalls espresso maker that could burst

If you own an espresso maker from IKEA, you might want to see if it is included in a voluntary recall from the company.

The Metallisk espresso maker for cooktop 0.4L with a stainless steel safety valve could burst during use.

The impacted products have date stamps between 2040 and 2204.

"The risk has increased after a change of material and construction of the safety valve," said IKEA in a media release. "Only the products with the stainless steel safety valve (silver/grey in colour) are included in the recall."

The company urges consumers to stop using the espresso maker and return it to the store for a full refund.

"Proof of purchase is not required, and there is no limit to when the product can be returned," said IKEA.

Anyone with questions can reach the company online at www.IKEA.ca or call toll-free at 1-800-661-9807.
