Maroons named to showcase games

Four players from the Chatham Maroons have been selected for the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL) Future Stars and Top Prospects games.

Forward Noah Mathison will play for team white in the Future Stars game, which features the top 16-year-old players in the GOJHL.

Forwards David Brown and Connor Paronuzzi and defenceman Liam Doyle will be on team black in the Top Prospects game, which features the top 17 and 18-year-olds in the GOJHL.

"After having to cancel last year we couldn't be more excited to have this incredible event back on the ice," says league commissioner Brent Garbutt. "We have some of the best 16, 17, and 18-year-old hockey players in Ontario ready to impress the scouts."

Both games will take place on Tuesday, December 27 in Ayr at the North Dumfries Community Centre. The Future Stars game is set for 4 p.m. and the Top Prospects will take the ice at 7 p.m.
