French school board reaches tentative agreement

The Conseil scolaire catholique Providence has reached a tentative agreement with its administration and educational support staff.

The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 4299 represents around 800 employees at the school board.

The agreement was reached after the central bargaining agreement was ratified earlier this month.

"We are very pleased with the outcome of these negotiations," said Anthony Cutrone, President of CUPE 4299, "This agreement recognizes the critical importance of the work our members do and ensures services for the students of Providence. I want to thank our negotiating team for their hard work in reaching this tentative agreement. I would also like to thank our members for their support during this time.

The French school board serves an area that stretches from Windsor to Woodstock and includes the Grey-Bruce and Huron-Perth regions.

"This agreement is a reflection of the collaborative work of all parties and demonstrates our shared commitment to the success and well-being of students," said Jacques Kenny, President of the Conseil scolaire catholique Providence. "I would like to congratulate all parties involved for negotiating an agreement that meets everyone's needs."
