Stranded motorists seek shelter in Chatham

Residents of Chatham-Kent have a rare opportunity to help someone in need this holiday weekend.

On Friday evening, the Municipality of Chatham-Kent made a call for volunteers who will open their doors to stranded motorists for the night.

A release from the city says drivers who were stranded by Friday's winter storm are currently sheltering at the Ridgetown and Tilbury arenas, however, they will need somewhere to stay overnight.

If you have room in your home to accommodate one or more people, please call 519-360-1998 or 3-1-1 to be matched with someone.
