LPH reports slight uptick in COVID cases

Lambton Public Health is reporting fewer than 40 new cases of COVID-19 in the last week.

In its update Wednesday, the health unit reported 39 lab confirmed infections, up from 29 the week before, with a daily average of five cases.

An outbreak was declared at Vision Nursing Home in Sarnia over the weekend. The health unit said six residents and fewer than five staff members and visitors have tested positive for the virus.

Bluewater Health is caring for seven COVID-positive patents.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, there have been 167 related deaths in Sarnia-Lambton.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
