School bus service cancelled, some schools closed in CK

School bus service has been cancelled for a second straight day in Chatham-Kent.

There is still a freezing drizzle advisory in effect for Chatham-Kent Thursday morning and Environment Canada says surfaces such as highways, walkways, and parking lots may be slippery.

St. Anne Catholic School in Blenheim is closed due to a power outage. All other St. Clair Catholic schools and offices are open.

Merlin Area Public School, Wheatley Area Public School, Harwich Raleigh Public School, W.J. Baird Public School (Blenheim), École élémentaire catholique Sainte-Catherine (Pain Court), and École secondaire catholique de Pain Court (Pain Court) are also closed for the day. Blenheim District High School is also closed for the day as per LKDSB's protocol, but because of the power outage, students will not switch to online learning for the day there.

St. Michael Catholic School in Ridgetown is also closed Thursday due to a power outage and so are St. Joseph Catholic School and Tilbury Area Public School.

Students at Indian Creek Road Public School were also dismissed early on Thursday because of a concern for ongoing and potential future power outages in the area.
