Senior arrested for threatening someone with a gun

A Chatham resident in his late 70s is facing charges after Chatham-Kent police got a tip about a man who was allegedly threatening someone with a gun.

Police said they received that call Monday evening in the area of Orchard Heights and arrested a suspect in connection with the case.

Officers also seized a pellet gun and a firearm from the residence.

The 78-year-old Chatham man was charged with several firearms offences and later released with conditions and a future court date.

Trio of arrests on warrants

Chatham-Kent police had a busy day picking up some wanted Wallaceburg residents on Monday.

Police said they arrested a 39-year-old Wallaceburg man on Murray Street in Wallaceburg Monday evening. He was wanted for failing to attend court.

Officers also found a 41-year-old Wallaceburg woman who was wanted for trespassing and arrested her on Lorne Avenue in Wallaceburg.

Police also arrested a 38-year-old Wallaceburg man on Lorne Avenue in Wallaceburg while they were investigating another incident. He was wanted for several highway traffic act offences.

The two men who were arrested were both taken into police custody pending bail hearings while the woman who was arrested on the outstanding warrant was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
