You might want to cancel any plans to travel on Friday night.
Environment Canada has upgraded the winter weather travel advisory for the region to a winter storm warning, as a Texas low moves into the region.
The agency warns weather conditions could quickly change, making it hazardous for any driver that dares to venture out.
Visibility could be impacted by heavy wet snow, blowing snow and driving rain pouring down on the region. Environment Canada said we could get up to 15 centimetres of snow in some areas and 30 millimetres of rain. On top of that, wind gusts up to 70 km/h are possible.
"Snow will begin Friday afternoon and quickly become heavy at times, likely impacting the afternoon commute," read the advisory. "Heavy snow in combination with strong easterly winds may create reduced visibility and hazardous travel conditions."
Some of the snow could mix with ice pellets. Closer to Lake Erie, heavy rain may dominate during the afternoon hours before transitioning back into snow in the evening.
"Temperatures in some areas across the region, especially near Lake Erie, may remain above zero during the snowfall, which will limit snowfall accumulations," said Environment Canada.
It still isn't sure which areas will get the heaviest snow.
