CK McHappy Day totals up significantly from 2022

Chatham-Kent residents ate a lot of Big Macs and other McDonald's menu items on Wednesday in support of local children’s charities.

This year’s McHappy Day raised a total of $40,729 from the McDonald's locations in Chatham and Wallaceburg. That's up more than $7,000 from last year's total of $33,491.84.

The money that was raised will benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Southwestern Ontario.

RMHC supports more than 26,000 Canadian families each year.

Across the country on Wednesday, McHappy Day raised over $7.5 million was raised in support of RMHC and children’s charities.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
