Wheatley youth arrested for uttering threats over the phone

A 15-year-old Wheatley youth is in trouble with the law after she allegedly threatened someone during a phone call.

Police said their investigation started when they were notified of the phone call on May 17, 2023 in the area of Degge Street in Chatham.

Officers said the youth turned herself in at Chatham-Kent police headquarters on May 22, 2023.

She was charged with uttering threats and was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Police arrest man wanted on outstanding warrants

Chatham-Kent police were able to cross another name off of their wanted list Monday night when they arrested a 43-year-old Chatham man accused of violating his bail conditions.

Police said they found him while they were responding to a disturbance call at a residence on Victoria Avenue in Chatham shortly after 8:30 p.m. Monday.

The accused was arrested, charged with failing to comply with a release order and failing to attend court, and was set to be held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
