Multiple arrests made for intimate partner violence

Chatham-Kent police responded to a residence around 10 a.m. on Canada Day for a bail violation related to intimate partner violence.

Police found during their investigation, that a 28-year-old man had been communicating with his ex-girlfriend and going to her home despite, his bail conditions.

A 26-year-old woman was also arrested. She was charged with facilitating a breach, as she allowed the man to visit her home.

Both were released from custody with future court dates.

Police were called to a home in Wheatley for a report of a domestic incident.

Police said that a man went to a woman's home, which went against a previous release order. They add that the accused threatened and attacked her.

The incident happened just before 9 p.m. on Saturday.

The man faces a number of charges including assault causing bodily harm and uttering threats.

Impaired driving arrest

Chatham-Kent police received a traffic complaint involving a vehicle swerving all over the road in the area of Grand Avenue East around 3:30 Saturday afternoon.

The vehicle was located pulling into a driveway. The officer believed the driver was driving while under the influence of alcohol and arrested a 43-year-old Chatham man.

The man was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
