Motorcyclist clocked at over 200 km/h on Hwy. 401

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a 19-year-old for driving dangerously on Hwy. 401.

Elgin County OPP received a report of a motorcycle travelling over 200 kilometres per hour and weaving through traffic on the westbound 401 near Lawrence Road around 2:40 p.m. on Tuesday.

Less than an hour later, police located the motorcycle at the Tilbury ONroute Service Centre in Chatham-Kent.

The motorcyclist was arrested without incident. The teenager, from London, faces numerous charges including dangerous driving, stunt driving, and driving a vehicle without a valid permit.

He is scheduled to appear in Chatham court in August.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
