Overnight house fire causes $100K in damage

Damage is estimated at $100,000 after a fire broke out in a Wallaceburg townhouse.

Fire crews from Wallaceburg and Chatham responded to the blaze in Unit #11 of 200 Westcourt Boulevard at around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Firefighters managed to contain the fire, confining it to the unit.

No injuries were reported, but the unit sustained extensive damage from smoke and heat.

The cause of the fire has been listed as accidental.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
