Dresden to host 148th fair this weekend

The Dresden Fair gets underway this Friday, July 28.

The midway opens at 4 p.m. and things will get loud at the Dresden Raceway grandstand.

"We have our annual tractor pull that we do every year and that happens Friday night at 6:30," said Alicia Van Esse with the Dresden Agricultural Society. "We have a midway this year."

The cost to get into the truck and tractor pull is $20, but kids under 10 are free.

On Saturday the midway continues, plus the soapbox derby is back. Exhibits will be on display in the former slot building starting at 9 a.m. and the cattle show is set for 10 a.m.

There will also be a number of new events in the spotlight on Saturday.

"We have an ATV Rodeo, Lawnmower Races, an Escape Room," said Van Esse. "All different things to try to and reach all different kinds of people and different ages."

Lawnmower races are at Noon, while registration for the ATV Rodeo begins at 3 p.m. with racing at 4. And the escape room will run from 6-10 p.m.

The fun continues on Sunday with live harness horse racing. Post time is 1 p.m.
