Third Street Bridge closure delayed one day

The Third Street Bridge closure has been delayed one day due to recent heavy rainfall, municipal officials say.

The bridge will be closed from Tuesday, August 1 at 7 a.m. to Friday, August 4 at 7 p.m.

“The closure is required to replace deficient asphalt on either side of the bridge to ensure the long-term quality of the bridge’s paved surface,” read a statement from the Municipality of Chatham-Kent.

“Detours will be posted to direct traffic around the side, which includes the use of the Lacroix Street Bridge and Fifth Street Bridge.”

Ride CK route detours will be posted on the buses, at the terminal and on the website.

“The Municipality of Chatham-Kent would like to thank the residents of Chatham-Kent for their cooperation and patience during this closure,” read the statement.
