Lakeshore crash leads to drug trafficking charges for Wallaceburg man

A Wallaceburg man has been charged with drug trafficking following a collision in Lakeshore.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged the 37-year-old with possession of cocaine, methamphetamine, and heroin after a crash early on Sunday morning on County Road 46 in Lakeshore. Police said a vehicle ended up in a ditch.

Police said they found a large quantity of illicit drugs in the vehicle, including suspected cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of $120,000.

The suspect was also charged with violating a court release order and possession of a prohibited device or ammunition.

Essex County OPP wants to remind the public that if you see anything suspicious you should contact the Ontario Provincial Police or your nearest police authority immediately.
