Man lost in woods led to safety by OPP sirens

A Walpole Island resident was guided to safety with the help of Lambton OPP early Thursday morning, after becoming lost in the woods.

Lambton OPP were called at around 4 a.m. about a man who had gone for a walk to his son's house, when he became disoriented in the woods.

Officers utilized their sirens and loud speakers, in conjunction with OPP Communications call takers, to safely locate the 48-year-old man near the area of Tahgahoning Road at around 4:30 a.m.

Police said the man did not require any medical attention.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
