Walapalooza returns to Walpole Island

Walapalooza kicks off Friday at Walpole Island First Nation ahead of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

The free two-day live music event is being held at Highbanks Park.

Residents are invited to listen to Indigenous artists and performers from across Turtle Island.

Gates open at 3 p.m. Friday.

The festival is organized by Bkejwanong Youth Council, Bkejwanong Family Well-Being program, Auntie Ro, Walpole Island Heritage Centre and others.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
