Another round of water testing is underway for the Wheatley and Tilbury water distribution system.
Because the Wheatley Water Treatment plant is still down, the Chatham-Kent's Public Utilities Commission (PUC) is pumping water in from other nearby systems and they are also hauling bulk water in.
A release from the Municipality of Chatham-Kent said since September 28, it has distributed a total of seven semi-trailer loads of water to Wheatley and Tilbury residents, totalling about 170,000 litres of drinking water.
Before the boil water advisory can be lifted, the water system needs to have sufficient pressure, adequate chlorine levels, and no bacteriological contamination.
In the meantime, bottled water will still be available for pickup at the arenas in Tilbury and Wheatley daily from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Municipal officials are still recommending people take home one or two cases per family. But they are also still encouraging people to help out their neighbours and friends who need water.
Anyone who picks up the water bottles can dispose of the empty containers in the normal recycling collection, but bins will also be provided at both of the arena locations.
