Tampon Tuesday donation drive returns to Chatham

The United Way of Chatham-Kent and Women United are once again collecting period and hygiene products.

Volunteers will be collecting donations during the drive-through event on Tuesday, October 17 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. in collaboration with Royal LePage Peifer Realty at 425 McNaughton Avenue West in Chatham.

All donations are welcome, including pads, tampons, and cups. They are also collecting other hygiene products, including deodorant, shampoo and soap. Gift cards and cash donations will also be accepted.

All of the items collected will be sorted and distributed to organizations and programs throughout Chatham-Kent.

In 2022, over 2,000 items were donated and handed out to 25 community programs and agencies.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
