Human remains dug up by construction company in Wallaceburg

An eerie discovery was made at a Wallaceburg property last week.

Chatham-Kent Police said they received a report from a construction company on October 9 after human remains were found at an excavation site on Gillard Street.

After a thorough examination, forensic anthropologists determined the remains had been at the location for an "extremely long time," according to police.

The remains have since been collected and are in the custody of the coroner's office.

Police say their investigation has concluded and the appropriate authorities are handling the situation.
