Raleigh Township man charged with drunk driving after crash

A 33-year-old man is facing an impaired driving charge after a single-vehicle collision on Talbot Trail near Blenheim.

Chatham-Kent police said they were called to the scene between Fargo Road and Talbot Street just after 12 a.m. Thursday and believed the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash was impaired by alcohol.

A 33-year-old Raleigh Township man was arrested and taken to police headquarters for some breath tests and later charged with having a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit.

He was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Man arrested after assault reported by third-party

A 36-year-old Ridgetown man is back in police custody after police got a tip from someone saying that he assaulted a woman he had been banned from associating with.

CK police said the tipster allegedly witnessed the assault, adding that it resulted in a "minor physical injury."

Police started investigating the incident on Wednesday and an officer found the accused at an address in Chatham at around 1:15 a.m. Thursday.

He was taken to police headquarters and charged with failing to comply with a release order, facilitating a breach, and assault.

The man who was arrested and charged in the case was then set to be held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
