Chatham resident one step closer to lotto win

April Williams is one step closer to claiming $100,000.

Williams won the prize with Encore in the August 5, 2023, Lotto 6/49 draw. But because she works for an authorized OLG lottery retailer and is considered an Insider she's been unable to claim the money in the usual way.

The ticket was purchased at Pioneer Snack Express on Richmond Street in Chatham, which is not Williams' place of employment.

The OLG states that claims of $10,000 or more made by Insiders require enhanced review and validation as well as a 30-day publication period before payment to make sure there are no additional claims on the winning ticket.

If no other claims are made to the prize Williams will be able to collect her winnings on November 27.
