Apartment fire causes $100K in damage

Emergency crews responded to a fire in the area of James Lane in Ridgetown over the weekend.

Police said that a Ridgetown resident contacted them after discovering a fire in his apartment.

The fire department was able to extinguish the blaze before it spread to any other units.

Fire officials determined that the cause was electrical and estimated the damage at $100,000.

No one was located inside the residence and no injuries have been reported.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
