Man arrested for luring child

Chatham-Kent police arrested a 40-year-old man after determining that he had tried to solicit intimate pictures from a young girl.

Police received a complaint from a concerned parent just before 10:30 p.m. Friday. She told officers that she found disturbing messages on her 12-year-old daughter's phone.

Police identified the man and charged him with luring a person under 14 years of age.

The man was released from police custody with conditions and a future court date.

Man faces assault charges following domestic incident

Police were called to a Chatham residence around 9:30 p.m. Friday for reports of a domestic dispute.

"Officers learned that a male had dumped a full bottle of pop on his girlfriend while she was driving, and subsequently assaulted her a second time once they arrived home by striking her with his hand," police said.

The man was arrested and faces one count of assault and one count of assault with a weapon.

Woman arrested on outstanding warrants

Chatham-Kent police were called to an apartment complex at 8 a.m. on Friday due to an "unwanted person" on the premises.

When officers arrived, they located the female suspect in front of the building. After an interview with the woman, police determined that she was wanted on several outstanding warrants.

The woman was arrested and taken to police headquarters. She was later released on an undertaking with a future court date.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
