UPDATE: Eastbound Hwy 401 reopened following transport trailer crash

Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a crash on eastbound Highway 401.

Officers from the Elgin County Chatham detachment responded shortly after 5 p.m. Friday to the highway at mile maker 103 in Chatham-Kent. A transport trailer collided with the centre median.

No injuries were reported, and the driver was the only occupant of the truck.

Police had diverted traffic off the eastbound lanes at Kent Bridge Road. The OPP tweeted shortly after 6:30 p.m. that the lanes have been reopened.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
