Chatham-Kent Barnstormers sign new player from Oregon

The Chatham-Kent Barnstormers have signed a second player to the team's 2024 roster.

Miles Norman, 24, from Portland, Oregon, was introduced by the team in a social media post on Thursday.

Norman is a centerfielder but in an interview during said he can play a little bit of everything.

"I've got a family member who is with the team," said Norman in a video interview during local tryouts. "I was told to come up so I said, 'yeah'. I'm feeling good about it."

Norman is inspired by Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder and second baseman Markus Lynn "Mookie" Betts.

The team's home opener of its inaugural season will be in May 2024 at Fergie Jenkins Field in Chatham, which will have capacity for 1,200 fans.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
