Chatham man faces assault charges following domestic dispute

Just before 11:30 p.m. on Friday police said they were called to a Park Avenue West address because of an unwanted person.

Police determined that following a verbal argument, a man poured beer all over a woman and her laptop and tablet.

The man left the address before officers arrived, but returned during their investigation and was placed under arrest.

A 23-year-old man was charged with assault, assault with a weapon, and mischief under $5,000.

Windsor woman arrested in Wallaceburg on outstanding warrant

A Chatham-Kent police officer on patrol in Wallaceburg spotted a woman known to have an outstanding warrant at about midnight on Friday.

The warrant stemmed from a failure to appear in court for an assault charge.

The Windsor woman was arrested and released with a January court date.

Dresden man charged with mischief

CK police responded to a North Street address in Dresden after receiving reports of a man acting strangely.

In the early hours of Saturday morning, the man reportedly smashed a window out of his neighbour's residence for no known reason.

A 36-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000.

He was transported to police headquarters and later released with conditions.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
