No changes in leadership at local Catholic school board

John Van Heck will remain at the helm of the St. Clair Catholic District School Board of Trustees for 2024.

The separate school board, in a news release Wednesday, said Van Heck was acclaimed during Tuesday's board meeting.

He has held the position since 2016 after first being elected as a trustee in 2006.

“We do excellent work in our Catholic school system on behalf of students and families,” said Van Heck in the news release. “Among the most important things we do, in addition to excellent programs and learning opportunities, is leading our students to be followers of Christ. I am thankful everyday for Catholic education.”

David Argenti was acclaimed to serve a second one-year term as vice chair.

The board said elections are held annual for both positions.
