Alleged drug dealer busted again in Chatham

A 46-year-old Chatham woman who was arrested after a drug bust in Chatham earlier this year is facing more drug trafficking charges now.

Chatham-Kent police said members of their Intelligence Unit executed a search warrant at the woman's home on King Street West in Chatham at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday and seized approximately $33,500 worth of methamphetamine and cocaine along with a large amount of Canadian cash and some drug-related equipment.

The woman was arrested and charged with two counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking along with two counts of failing to comply with her release conditions.

Officers said the same woman was arrested on October 4 after police searched a home on Park Street in Chatham.

At that time, she was charged with firearms, weapons, and drug-related offences -- including six counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Police said after the woman was arrested on Wednesday, she was set to be held in custody pending a bail hearing.
