Man arrested following home invasion

Chatham-Kent police believe three men broke into a home to assault a resident.

Officers were called to the Chatham address early Sunday morning. Police said the victim was able to detain one of the suspects long enough for them to arrive and arrest him.

According to police, the suspects used weapons to assault the victim. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment.

The investigation is ongoing.

Police believe this to be an isolated incident and public safety is not a concern.

Stolen vehicle and property found, arrest made

A 35-year-old man has been arrested for theft and possession of stolen property.

An officer on patrol spotted a suspicious vehicle on Saturday. "The vehicle had Michigan licence plates and were found to be stolen on query," a news release read.

Police determined that both the licence plates and vehicle were stolen from the Windsor area. A search also found suspected stolen property inside the vehicle.

The man was held in police custody pending a bail hearing.

The investigation is ongoing.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
