Cautious driving urged as winter weather moves in

Dangerous driving conditions are ahead as winter moves into the area.

Environment Canada has issued a winter weather travel advisory for Chatham-Kent, lasting from late Monday afternoon to early Tuesday morning.

Rain is expected to transition to snow, with 2-6 centimetres expected to accumulate. The weather agency also warns that wind gusts up to 70 kilometres per hour could cause poor visibility due to blowing snow and slippery, icy road conditions.

Drivers are advised to slow down, watch for tail lights, and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles if they must travel during the hazardous conditions.
