Early morning Hwy 401 crash in CK under investigation

Ontario Provincial Police are putting out a call for tips and dashcam footage after a single-vehicle crash that closed the westbound lanes of the Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent Tuesday morning.

OPP said they were called to the scene in the area of Duart Road just before 3 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a transport truck blocking both westbound lanes of the highway.

Police said they had to close a section of the highway temporarily for their investigation and so that the vehicle could be safely removed. The highway has since fully re-opened to traffic.

No injuries were reported.

Anyone with information that could help police with their investigation is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or online at www.opp.ca/reporting.
