Suspect arrested in downtown Windsor stabbing

A Chatham man has been arrested after a stabbing in Windsor's downtown core earlier this week.

Windsor police said officers were called to an altercation near the intersection of Chatham Street West and Pelissier Street around 1:30 a.m. Monday.

When they arrived, they found a 31-year-old man with a stab wound to his back. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators learned an argument started between the victim and three men inside a licensed business. The altercation continued outside, where the suspect stabbed the victim with a knife.

The suspect and two other men took off running down Chatham Street West.

On Wednesday, police arrested a 21-year-old man at his home in Chatham.

He is charged with assault to commit bodily harm, assault with a weapon, and breach of probation.

The charges have not been proven in court.
