Windsor man stopped going 150km/h on 401 in Chatham-Kent

A 50-year-old Windsor man is facing several charges after getting caught speeding on Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent on Christmas Day.

The driver was stopped on the westbound lanes of the 401 just east of Bloomfield Road after going 150 km/h in a posted 100 km/h zone.

Police determined that the driver was also violating the conditions of an existing release order.

He was arrested and taken into police custody without incident.

The 50-year-old was charged with several offences, including stunt driving and driving while under suspension.

The accused was set to be held in police custody pending a bail hearing.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
