Suspicious vehicle complaint leads to weapons charges in Sarnia

A Sarnia woman and a Dover Centre man are facing weapons charges after police were called about a suspicious vehicle.

Officers were called to the area around Afton Drive where a vehicle was parked on the grass at an apartment complex.

When police approached the vehicle a man exited and became confrontational with police.

The man then went to reach back inside the driver's side of the vehicle.

Officers found what was originally believed to be a handgun between the drivers seat and centre console and a kitchen knife.

The gun was then confirmed to be a pellet gun.

Both weapons were within reach of the occupants with the knife hidden beneath the steering column.

The pair were arrested.
