Blenheim's Stonehouse helping Canada's quest for a three-peat at U18 Worlds

It was a good Sunday for Blenheim's Abby Stonehouse at the world under-18 women's hockey championship in Switzerland.

She scored two short-handed goals and added three assists to lead Canada past Czechia 8-1 in their second round-robin game at the tournament.

Stonehouse, who plays for the Waterloo Ravens in the OHWL, scored twice in the second period, giving her seven points in the tournament.

The Canadians are 2-0, and will play undefeated Finland on Tuesday for first place in Group A.

Canada is aiming to win its third straight IIHF Ice Hockey U18 Women's World Championship.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
