Chatham Hope Haven opening warming centres overnight

The Municipality's Employment and Social Services says that due to the frigid forecast this week, Hope Haven will offer its services as a warming centre in Chatham-Kent.

With the temperature in Chatham-Kent expected to drop below -5C for an extended period, the Chatham Hope Haven will open from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., along with their usual daytime hours of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

At this time, Chatham Hope Haven is expected to open nightly until January 19.

Hope Haven is located at 183 Wellington St. West.

When the centre is open overnight, they will have their upstairs light on as a signal the services are available.

Transportation can be arranged for those that are outside of the downtown core, including areas outside of those listed by contacting the Homeless Response Line at 519-354-6228.
