Strong winds down trees and power lines in CK

Chatham-Kent Fire and Rescue continue to respond to downed power lines around the region.

The fire department has advised the public to always assume that a downed power line is live and dangerous and to report any to 9-1-1 if encountered.

In Dealtown, a large tree limb landed on a power line causing a fire.

According to one Dealtown resident, the fire department responded within five minutes of the emergency call and extinguished the fire. It was also reported that Hydro One quickly reacted and began working to repair the line.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
