Duo arrested after being found inside stolen vehicle

Chatham-Kent police received the report of a stolen vehicle on William Street North just after 8 a.m. on Tuesday.

Officers said that they found the vehicle a short time later, at a different location in Chatham, with two suspects still inside.

A 33-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, both of Chatham, have been arrested and charged with possessing property obtained by crime under $5,000. Police also determined that the pair were both wanted on outstanding warrants relating to different matters.

The suspects were released from police custody with conditions and a future court date.

3K in damage done to construction equipment

Police are seeking suspect(s) who forcefully entered a fenced-in compound at Junctura Construction, at 15 Maple Leaf Drive, in Chatham.

Once inside, police said that several work vehicles sustained an estimated $3,000 of damage.

The incident happened sometime between January 27 and January 28.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
