Cornhole tournament raises $33K for Chatham-Kent Hospice

The Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation's inaugural cornhole tournament was a success, raising over $33,000 for end-of-life care in Chatham-Kent.

The event, which took place Saturday at the Everest Convention Centre in Chatham, saw 28 teams take part who wanted to help raise some funds.

“We are so grateful for all of the teams who came out to support this first-time event, as well as all of the donors and sponsors who made Cornhole for Hospice such a success,” said Special Events Chair Ginny Hawken.

Andrew Nelson and Ty Lucio of Floor Baggers took home the trophy and cash prize of $500 for the Best of the Best bracket, while Kristy Nelson and Brandon Dionne of Half Decent won the $250 cash prize in the Best of the Rest bracket.

The event also featured a 50/50 raffle with a jackpot of $3,185.

Brock Redford was the lucky winner.

“Cornhole is a favourite summer past-time for so many people and bringing it indoors to raise funds for Hospice is a winning combination," said Hawken.
