An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

A 44-year-old Chatham-Kent man has been arrested in connection with an arson investigation in Wallaceburg.Emergency crews responded to a structure fire on Wills Street in Wallaceburg at around 9:49 p.m. on Saturday.The blaze was deemed to be a case of arson and the investigation was handed over to the Chatham-Kent Police Service's Criminal Investigation Branch for further investigation.Police said a suspect was identified and a warrant was issued for his arrest.The 44-year-old was arrested in Wallaceburg on Wednesday and transported to police headquarters.He is charged with arson with disregard for human life.
