Chatham drug bust results in arrest, $253K seizure

An investigation by Chatham-Kent police has resulted in one person being arrested and a significant seizure of illegal drugs.

Police did not release a specific address, but said two search warrants were carried out on Keil Drive South on Tuesday.

Members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service Intelligence Unit seized approximately $253,320 worth of cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl during their search.

Officers also seized a large amount of Canadian currency, some drug-related equipment, and a loaded Glock handgun.

A 22-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with several gun and drug-related charges. He was transported to police headquarters was set to be held pending a bail hearing.

Police said a 19-year-old Chatham woman is still to be located and charged with the same offenses.
